Tedx-Euston Salon on Harnessing energy

TEDxEuston Salon – Harnessing Africa's Energy

With Ghana and Nigeria’s oil and gas problems starring as headlines in recent weeks, two choices surface for the reader – to see such challenges as obstacles or to view them as opportunities. As natural supporters of the latter, we are excited by TEDxEuston‘s latest instalment in their relaxed, TEDxEuston Salons. Taking place on 13th June in London’s sophisticated Crown Plaza, the Salon (sponsored by Shell) will focus on the salient topic of harnessing Africa’s energy. The Salon combines inspiring speakers (the trademark of all TED events), alongside drinks, food, friends, music and of course a dance floor!

Credit to TEDxEuston for their innovative interpretation of Africa’s well-documented energy challenges. Guest speakers Andrew Hunt, Olasimbo Sojinrin and Eunice Baguma Ball should all offer unique perspectives on the topic:

Andrew’s, is the founder and MD of Aduna, a unique African-inspired health and beauty brand and social business. Aduna make use of the fruit Boabab in producing a natural energy bar alternative. His talk will focus on the potential and power of marketing superfood as high end luxury goods.
Olasimbo, Nigerian Country Manager at Solar Sisters (a fantastic organisation that eradicates energy poverty by empowering women with economic opportunity) will no doubt wow the crowd via a sharing of her experiences in such an important role.

Lastly, we have Eunice, the founder/organiser of the Africa Technology Business Network, a community of entrepreneurs, innovators and technologists who are interested, in not only tapping into the opportunities in Africa, but also creating social and economic impact. She will reflect on Africa’s budding tech scene and its potential to develop exponentially and make a real impact on Africa’s ability to face forward and harness its energy.

The discussion of these topics will no doubt leave participants engaged and inspired, in a way which is synonymous with TED.
That date again – 13th June. Tickets can be bought here.
We hope to see you there!
