Details
Seedstars (the leading emerging market startup and investor community) and Mada (a leading non-profit is the ICT Accessibility space) have joined forces to seek for the highest potential tech-based ventures around the world whose accessibility solutions will help to improve the lives of persons with disabilities, and provide quality education and access to culture, such as tourism, transport, retail and sports.
Criteria
All applications must comply with the following criteria:
- The startup must be an existing solution under 4 years of existence (on average at least 2 years old)
- The startup must be a seed-stage startup with a minimum viable product (MVP) and initial user traction.
The sectors of priority include:
- Access and quality of education such as enabling people with disabilities to access and pursue quality education
- Culture such as empowering the end-user to access regular culture-related activities whether that is tourism, retail, transportation or sports.
The selection process for applicants:
- May 18, 2020: Application for the prize opens
- August 15, 2020: Call for startup application closes
- December 2020: Regional Finalists are chosen where four startups are selected to attend the Seedstars MENA Summit 2020
- April 2021: Global Finalists are chosen where two startups are selected to attend the Seedstars Global Summit 2021
- Winner Announced: One winner will be selected to get the MADA ICT Accessibility Award at the Seedstars Global Summit
