Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals with demonstrable leadership potential who also have strong academic background. The scholarship offers full financial support to study for any eligible master’s degree at any UK university whilst also giving access to a wide range of exclusive academic, professional, and cultural experiences.

Chevening is the United Kingdom government's global scholarship programme that offers future leaders the unique opportunity to study in the UK. These scholarships are awarded to outstanding professionals from all over the world to pursue a one-year master's degree in any subject at any UK university.

Applicants can apply for the scholarship online via the Chevening website. As the Chevening awards are available in multiple countries, the participants will have to select their country and their level from the website. Completion of all components of an undergraduate degree is mandatory for enrolment in a postgraduate program. Candidates must fulfill the Chevening English language requirement by 14th July 2022.


To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:

  • Have a minimum of two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours of work experience)
  • Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country
  • Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 14th July 2022
  • After the reward has ended the candidate must return to the country of citizenship for at least after two years
  • The candidate must have applied to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of the selected choices by 14th July 2022

About Chevening

Chevening is the UK government’s international awards program aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations, Chevening offers two types of award – Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships – the recipients of which are personally selected by British embassies and High Commissions throughout the world.
