The THRIVE AFRICA Challenge, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the U.S. Department of State, is part of THRIVE's Global Initiative which aims to enable the needed transformations in Africa’s food value chain as highlighted in the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals. The Challenge will accomplish this by identifying, promoting, accelerating, and investing in innovative early-stage African startups that are creating new and alternative paths for a more efficient and sustainable global food system.
One winning startup will receive the THRIVE AFRICA Challenge Award, brand exposure, participation in an all-expenses-paid Silicon Valley Startup Bootcamp, access to the THRIVE ecosystem, and a spot at pitch finals for the award-winning THRIVE VII Accelerator Program (March-June 2021) which includes investment and pitching at THRIVE, Forbes Demo Day in Salinas, California, USA.
THRIVE AgTech’s mission is to connect the expertise of tech companies to on-the-ground knowledge of agricultural companies, the financial backing of investors, and the entrepreneurs solving problems in the AgTech space. THRIVE unites these communities in order to drive the development and adoption of sustainable technology enhancements necessary for securing the global food demands of the future. Through its corporate open innovation program, annual seed accelerator, technology & innovation forums, and investment fund, THRIVE helps innovative technology companies disrupt, scale and lead in the global market.
