St Andrews Africa Summit (SAASUM) is back for its 6th annual summit. This time the discourse centres on leadership, development, and entrepreneurship in the 21st century.
Leadership, Development & Entrepreneurship - Overtime these words has been given a lot of meaning, definitions and connections. The interconnectivity brought about by social media and the heightened visibility of the community leaders encourages aspiration toward influential roles in society.
SAASUM 2020 summit attempts to circumvent the discourse of these themes in colloquial usage, but also sets the parameters of interpretation of them through pursuit of specific lines of inquiry. This summit is focused on Africa, its diaspora, and its output - both culturally and economically over time.
Join our speakers as they identify: how does entrepreneurship by the individual and leadership by government and public institutions within and beyond the continent foster development? How can these contemporary global citizens contribute meaningfully and sustainably to expedite and safeguard the growth of this continent which for so long has been central to global exchange and production?
The summit will take place in Buchanan Theatre on Saturday, 22nd February 11:00 AM to 17.00 PM, followed by a networking.

St Andrews Africa Summit (SAASUM) is a student led initiative that promotes a versatile discussion about Africa as a place, a people, and a catalyst towards a greater future. SAASUM’s primary objective is to provide a platform that stimulates a critical dialogue about the common discourses concerning Africa by bringing together the professional, the academic and the student. We aim to provide participants with an all-encompassing understanding of the trends currently shaping African affairs.
