To commemorate Africa Day, the African Society of Cambridge University (ASCU), in partnership with various Africa-focused student societies across the University of Cambridge, has organised a day long event to showcase, educate and celebrate the African continent and its people.

Under the theme 'Engendering an Inclusive Africa', Africa Together will include panels of prominent African luminaries on a range of issues reflecting the diversity of the continent, including religion, leadership, entrepreneurship, diversity, resources the arts.

  • Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, CEO, Motsepe Foundation - President of the Cancer Association of South Africa, South Africa’s Most Influential Women 2012
  • Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Award winning investigative journalist - named one of the most influential Africans
  • Tarik Choho, Managing Director, OCP SA and CEO, OCP Africa
  • Prof. David Dunne, Director of the Cambridge-Africa Programme and Extraordinary Fellow, King's College
  • Fadumo Qasim Dayib, Presidential candidate for Somalia - Feminist of the Year by the Feminist Association Union
  • Olajumoke Adenewo, AD Consulting - named by CNN as 'Africa's Starchitect', leading Architect in Africa
  • Prof. Julius Okojie, Executive Secretary, National University Commission, Nigeria
  • Ahmad Zakari, Chief Operating Officer, General Electric Nigeria
  • Destiny Ekaragha, Director and writer, Gone too Far, Tight Jeans - 3rd British black women who directed a feature-length film that was given theatrical distribution in the U.K
