Mobile technology is revolutionising how organisations engage with their end users. More than 96% of the world’s population has access to a mobile phone, meaning it is now possible to reach nearly every single person on the planet.
And yet 3 billion people living in emerging markets still lack access to relevant, timely, and engaging information in their local languages, and their voices remain underheard. The organisations that serve them lack the technology and capacity to reach them, and many are unaware of the power of mobile technology to meet their organizational goals.
Viamo aims to catalyse a mobile movement, connecting non-profits, governments, and businesses to the people they serve using the digital technologies they have in their pockets. Viamo envisions a world where all people have access to the information they need to make decisions for healthy, prosperous lives.
With more than 8 million people reached to-date, Viamo is well on its way to meeting its goal of reaching 100M people by 2021. Viamo now has representation in more than 20 major markets in Africa and Asia.
Viamo enables organisations to collect information at a speed, frequency and cost previously impossible with in-person methods. It also enables them to share valuable information with local and national populations and their field staff, in any language. In doing so, organisations are able to involve the people they serve in the design, management, and evaluation of programs and policies.
