Role Responsibilities:

The role will be multi-faceted, but at its heart will be the need to:

• Help secure new and long-lasting project development partnerships
• Work directly with project proponents and our in-house project development experts to design and deliver the highest integrity carbon projects at scale
• Deliver Project Design Documents, Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification documentation
• See projects through validation and verification processes
• Develop and manage the regional project development team
• Regularly report on portfolio progress and KPIs
• Anticipate, identify, and effectively manage risks and challenges; proactively communicate these risks and mitigations on a regular basis
• Ground-truth and problem solve through field visits to project sites

• Experience of delivering PDDs, MRVs and supporting them through validation and verification processes
• Practical knowledge of international carbon standards including Verra VCS, Verra JNR, ART TREES, CCB
• Proven ability to apply technical and quantitative skills and provide quantitative and qualitative analyses in a REDD+/ARR context
• Excellent working knowledge of the application of FPIC and safeguards
• Strong applied knowledge of working within national-level carbon and land-use regulatory frameworks and reporting systems
• Exceptional written English for technical and lay audiences
• Excellent project management skills, and proven ability to deliver to deadlines
• A love of nature; a strong affinity with conservation and restoration of Africa’s natural systems
