Scope of Work


As Country Director, Nigeria, you will lead the growth of Jetstream’s brand and business in Nigeria. This role is for a true generalist, who is keen to take on a challenge requiring ground-level tactical work and high-level strategic thinking. You must have strong customer-facing skills, a strategic mindset, and a demonstrated ability to grow teams and motivate stakeholders to perform at their best. In the customer-facing part of this role, you will build and lead a team responsible for sales and business development. You will also oversee the cultivation of relationships with vendors and logistics providers in the region You will oversee office administration, compliance and reporting, and day-to-day financial management, with the support of more junior staff.  You will also be the primary liaison between Jetstream’s Nigerian presence and its global management team. Your primary objective is to expand the company’s penetration of the Nigeria cross-border trade sector and to leverage relationships with strategic partners to accelerate the distribution of the company’s technology platform.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with Jetstream’s management team in advancing the company’s commercial strategy and roadmaps in Nigeria
  • Build frameworks for measuring, capturing and interpreting data on sales and operational performance
  • Build and manage team members across sales, operations, finance and administration
  • Build and maintain commercial relationships with customers
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with stakeholders in key sectors of cross-border trade
  • Negotiate and manage multi-year contracts with customers and vendors
  • Develop and implement marketing & communication campaigns

Criteria

  • 5+ years experience in business management 
  • 3+ years experirnce in customer-facing sales or business development 
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close deals with high-profile stakeholders and key accounts
  • Significant work experience in building and scaling up teams in a fast-paced environment, technology-enabled startups preferred
  • Excellent data-driven business judgment and results-oriented mindset
  • Strong relationship and project management skills
  • Extraordinary strategic planning abilities, attention to detail and delivery
  • High emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills, in oral and written English
