Haussmann Group have ambitious plans to become the leading player in the workplace industry in Africa, by 2022; through the development of several new businesses, and the creation of a strong B2B Corporate Brand. In line with these plans, Haussmann is looking to launch a unique network of coworking spaces, AfricaWorks, across the continent - providing trendy, flexible, working spaces to large international corporates and SMEs at a reasonable price.

With plans to open 50 AfricaWorks CoWorking spaces in the next 5 years, Haussmann Group is looking for a proactive Growth Manager to join their team. As the new Growth Manager, you will report directly to the COO / CEO, and be responsible for leading the launch and expansion of AfricaWorks. You will be tasked with opening up a minimum of 15 coworking spaces in the next 12 months, across 10 major African capital cities.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Working with the Development & Finance team to identify & sign new co-working spaces:
    • Market Analysis;
    • Identification of Spaces;
    • Lease Negotiation & Signing;
    • Presentation at Investment Committee
    • Legal & Tax structuring
  • Working with the Design & Build team to design & fit-out new co-working spaces:
    • Test fit outs
    • Concept design developments
    • MEP design developments
    • Project Management of construction
    • Procurement & Logistics schedules
    • FF&E Selection & installation
  • Working with the Product team to launch new co-working spaces:
    • Secondment of City Launchers
    • Recruitment & training of Co-working Managers & Experience Managers
    • Set up of SOP
    • Soft & Hard Launches
    • Maximisation of Occupancy Rate


You have the potential to be based in a number of locations, as follows: Johannesburg, South Africa, preferred. Alternative options are: Europe; Ebene, Mauritius; Lagos, Nigeria; Nairobi, Kenya; Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.


  • Previous General Management / Business experience
  • Previous experience in a Corporate Real Estate fast growing & cool start-up (e.g. WeWork, Convene) within a Growth / Business Development / Expansion position, is a strong plus
