FCMB is aggressively expanding their digital presence both internally through processes, and externally through new product launches and distribution channels. FCMB are seeking a new Head of Digital & Technology to join their growing digital banking team.

 

FCMB is focused on deepening its digital banking and fintech offering. As the new Head of Digital & Technology, you will play a key role in the development of the company's digital and technology strategy, alongside members of the board and management.  You will lead strategy execution and take ownership for FCMB's digital and technology vision, goals and objectives. As the organisation's expert in technology management, you will act as the Executive Management team's key spokesperson on technology within the organisation.

 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Make decisions on FCMB's digital direction, including mobile money and digital banking
  • Identify the latest digital finance and technology trends, changes and developments
  • Use current tech trends to build a strategic & forward-looking roadmap
  • Own timelines for the development and deployment of all tech services and manage technology budgets
  • Develop data governance procedures, working other departments to prepare, protect and analyse data assets ensuring the company meets industry best practices
  • Accountable for building robust apps & services that minimise cybersecurity threats and have strong operational resilience 
  • Ensure technology practices adhere to regulatory standards, implement data privacy policies to comply with data protection regulations
  • Design and implement data strategies, pipelines and analysis systems
  • Communicate the status, value and importance of data collection to executive members and staff
  • Mentor team members

Criteria

  • Experience in digital banking / fintech / mobile money
  • Educated to degree level in Computer Science / Technology, or professional experience in software engineering
  • Experience in IT and technology operations, including enterprise architecture, design and development
  • Experience managing deployment & maintenance of apps and micro-services in hyper scale clouds (AWS, Azure and particularly Google Cloud) using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD best practices
  • Strong understanding of managing the development and growth of API ecosystem and familiarity with domain driven design concepts.
  • Understanding of best practices with respect to testing and security / cyber security
  • An analytical problem-solving mentality
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, execution and leadership experience
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
