The Opportunity:

EMTECH is looking for a Head of Business Development with a solid understanding of monetary policies, central banking and experience in selling enterprise software in emerging markets. The Head of Business Development will be responsible for identifying opportunities to engage, and working with Central Banks and their ecosystem to bring our integrated software portfolio to market. Professional experience and/or extensive knowledge of the African and/or Caribbean markets are required.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in fintech, regtech, blockchain technology and the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to central bank audiences (legal, currency, payments, licencing, policy, IT, etc…) with varying degrees of sophistication. 

You Will:

  • Identify opportunities to pitch EMTECH’s Modern Central Bank Software portfolio to central banks by tracking relevant projects, research and industry developments
  • Develop and nurture EMTECH’s engagement with central banks’ ecosystem stakeholders (fintechs, mobile operators, non-banks, banks, etc…)
  • Directly engage with Central Banks and other public sector agencies developing CBDC pilots, sandboxes and proofs of concepts
  • Develop strong relationships with central bankers and their technology partners and educate this ecosystem of players in the EMTECH portfolio
  • Develop presentations showcasing the use of EMTECH for prospective regulators and their stakeholders
  • Collaborate with functional groups across the organization, including but not limited to Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, Compliance and Legal
  • Manage deal flow, and structure/negotiate agreements with prospective partners
  • Coordinate and drive project execution across a cross-functional team, by building strong relationships internally, and through excellent communication and project management


  • 7+ years in enterprise technology sales or account management; experience selling to large financial institutions or central banks. Global sales experience is strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of the global payments system, including the infrastructure supporting domestic and cross-border payments
  • A strong interest in and understanding of the ability of blockchain technology to achieve international financial policy goals, including financial inclusion
  • Ability to develop the trust of central bank executives and influencers
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement
  • Strong knowledge of legal and contracting processes
  • Strong oral and written communication with the ability to explain complex public policy issues in a language that can be understood by government officials, policymakers, and the general public
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is a plus
