EIDU - Product Manager (UX + Growth) Movemeback African opportunity cover image

Over 600 million children are not achieving minimum proficiency levels in reading and math. With the rapid penetration of smartphones in Africa, for the first time in history, we will be able to reach these children at a massive scale.

At EIDU, we want to educate the world’s poorest 1 billion children by giving them the world’s best learning content at their fingertips. As a start, we have created a learning app for young children in the lowest-income areas where it’s especially hard to get the high-quality education that all children deserve. Our solution enables children to learn by themselves, at their own pace, at a fraction of the cost of other alternatives. Over the coming years, we will serve the world’s poorest 1 billion children by building the next generation global edtech learning platform.

We are looking for a Growth Product Manager to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. Your mission will be to drive our product at low-fee schools to gain insights and develop solutions to increase our product engagement and user retention. We will require your services starting as soon as possible.

  • Drive the vision and product strategy to drive sustainable user growth
  • Design and implement growth experiments and product changes that can move the needle for user engagement, activation, and retention
  • Develop a deep understanding of our users through user research, data analytics, and experimentation
  • Extract compelling insights from the usage of our product and report them effectively
  • Provide actionable feedback to guide Product and Design decisions

  • 2+ years of product experience or tech startup experience, owning key growth goals and driving results

  • Demonstrated experience building innovative product features or improvements delivering strong growth impact
  • Experience defining and executing A/B tests
  • Very collaborative with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and remote environment
  • You are passionate about the education space
  • Based in Nigeria with high flexibility to travel within Africa where EIDU is present

  • Being part of a social mission-driven yet business-minded start up, founded by highly successful serial tech entrepreneurs
  • Working in an entrepreneurial, fun, and result-oriented environment with highly talented people who care
  • Contributing directly to solving a pressing global inequality problem by improving what we do and how we do it on a daily basis

About EIDU

EIDU’s primary goal is to achieve social impact. They see early childhood education as a key factor in reducing the global opportunity gap. The ability to use mobile technology to improve educational conditions worldwide is in reach – at a fraction of the cost of other alternatives. In a few years, smartphones will be ubiquitous even in the least developed regions of the world. EIDU believe there is immense potential in harnessing smartphones as a teaching tool – it all depends on the software, and they are creating an app-based learning environment that enables children aged 3-6 to develop cognitive abilities on their own.

EIDU chose to approach their mission by founding a technology startup and are confident that their business model will allow them to develop a highly competitive product, as well as to attract the most talented people in the field. Despite their strong focus on technology and economy, the convictions that drive them are deeply humanistic, not technocratic. An innovative equity model reflects their focus on impact: rather than benefiting the first generation of founders only, it is designed to drive purposeful entrepreneurship for all employees over the course of a full decade.

Behind EIDU is a team with a decade-long common history of building and marketing highly innovative and successful software products. They want EIDU to be a place for growth, supporting people to make the best out of their talents. Employing agile principles on all levels, their organisational culture empowers people to act and make decisions autonomously within their domains. Simple and effective processes remove obstacles that hinder people from getting their jobs done, as well as involve them in shaping the organisation.

EIDU is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with employees from 10 different countries. Team members are also based in Nairobi, Kenya and Mexico City.
