Crisis Action seeks the services of a Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Officer to support the HR Director in implementation of HR policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the HR Director, the HR Information Systems (HRIS) Officer will support the implementation of HR Technology projects and related user support, and contribution towards the design, testing, development and implementation of HCM application systems and tools that support HR processes and decision making. As HR Information Systems (HRIS) Officer you will provide day to day HR support for the HR Director in order to ensure that the HR systems and processes put in place are working well. The HR Information Systems (HRIS) Officer will provide HR support for the fantastic global team. In addition, you will assist the HR Director to implement initiatives that preserve and develop Crisis Action’s unique culture, make the most of investment in systems, and seek out and deliver opportunities to make Crisis Action a great place to work for all staff.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

HR Information systems management and support (50%)

• Daily management if the Human Capital Management (HCM) System in the delivery of HR processes and procedures and support to staff
• Maximise the utilisation of HR systems to automate standard HR processes
• Support with the preparation of accurate and timely HR reports using our cloud based HCM system, Financial Force
• Ensure data integrity, testing of system changes, report and dashboard creation and analysing data flows for process improvement opportunities
• Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HR information system upgrades or changes
• Work with the Operations Manager to coordinate application of upgrade or integration with other tools or systems
• Provide support for the HR information system including, but not limited to, employee support and problem solving. Research and resolve system problems; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. Work with third parties and other stakeholders
• Collaborate with stakeholders across all functions (HR, Finance, IT, Operations) to maintain and develop processes that will create a best-in-class HR operations platform and an excellent employee experience
• Improve overall employee experience by strengthening the HR operations platform

HR Administrative and operational support  (30%)

• Support operational aspects of the employee life cycle such as recruitment, contracts, induction, performance management, training and offboarding
• Manage HR documentation and ensure accurate record keeping
• Assist the HR Director implement HR related organizational projects

Policy implementation support  (10%)

• Provide support to HR Director and Office Directors to update HR policies and procedures and employee handbook to all relevant national employment laws in countries we are operating in and act as a supportive and effective HR resource for all staff
• Work with the HR Director to preserve and develop Crisis Action’s unique culture to foster a continuously improving organization

Employee capacity building and development  (10%)

• Support the HR Director to implement learning programs that foster continuous growth for the entire team
• Assist with implementation of internal trainings that will boost key leadership skills and support maximising both individual and organisational effectiveness

Qualifications

• CIPD/SHRM qualified or the equivalent work experience
• Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology or Information Systems preferred
• Awareness of the international differences within employment law
• Experience of working on a cloud based HCM Database such as SalesForce/FinancialForce/Fairsail
• HRIS Implementation experience preferable
• A ‘systems’ thinker with a process orientation and significant attention to detail
• Resilience and an ability to cope with multiple internal and external demands
• First-class interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong project management skills
• High level of ambition, energy and enthusiasm; a can-do attitude and drive to see commitments and projects through
• Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion
• A commitment to Crisis Action’s aims and core values
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French
• Legal right to work in the Kenya
