AfricaWorks' purpose is to unlock Africa's potential through work by strengthening its business infrastructure. The Company started its journey in 2019 by launching coworking spaces. It now operates 15 AfricaWorks across 8 cities on the Continent with 400+ Corporate members like L'Oreal, Universal Music, Glovo, Spotify, IBM, Paystack, MFS Africa etc... and 2,000+ individual members. The Company has been featured in the Financial Times (FT) as one of "Africa's Fastest Growing Company" and won the award of "Best Coworking Space" in Africa in 2021 & 2022.

AfricaWorks’ ambition is to reach 100 AfricaWorks spaces within the next 5 years. As part of its growth plan, AfricaWorks is looking to hire a Chief Operating Officer (COO) reporting directly to the CEO.

Role Responsibilities:

Your role as COO will be to be fully in charge of all internal day to day aspects of the business:

• General Management: In collaboration with CEO, contribute to the Company’s strategy and lead the Execution Plan - e.g. Quarterly & Annually
• Sales & Marketing: In collaboration with the Sales & Marketing Team, drive execution of both the Marketing & Sales Plans - e.g. Online & Offline Marketing, Lead Generation & Conversion, Revenue Targets, dynamic Pricing & Discounts
• Product: In collaboration with Product Team, drive the execution of the Product Roadmap - Design, Operations & Tech - e.g. Design upgrades, Fit Out Budget & Timing, Brand Standards, SOP Manual, Tech Stack & Road Map etc.
• Finance: In collaboration with Accounting Team, drive the execution of the Budget as defined by the Board of Directors - e.g. Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis & Decision making, Cash Management, local debt funding
• Talent: In collaboration with Talent Team, drive the execution of the Talent Roadmap - e.g. company culture, recruitment, training, upskilling, goal setting, performance management

• BsC and / or MsC and / or MBA in Business from a leading international University
• 7+ years experience in management consulting and business operations
• Passionate about AfricaWorks’ purpose, mission & value
• Experience leading business operations across multiple locations
• Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting people relationships
• Experience working at / with scaling SME’s is preferable
• English is mandatory. French is a strong plus.
